Honeymoon Locations?

I am getting married next year and am currently looking to find a honeymoon location. Anyone got any ideas? I was thinking of going somewhere secluded.

Anyone got any ideas or any locations they have been that are really nice? I am looking to keep it in Australia as i have a thing about flying above water..

Any help would be really appreciated..

The Tree Top houses at Montville are just awsome!!.....very secluded and very romantic :hi5: not much to do but a little bush walking and staying in watching movies, drinking wine and getting wet in the spa  ooohh yeah!!!

How long a honey moon are you planning, and you plan on doing things, seeing sites, or staying indoors only .... hehehehe

Bora Bora in Tahiti !!!!

theres some nice places in the country outside melbourne, not too far that you cant zip into melbourne for a shopping trip, and not so close that the only scenery is the carpark.

Hit google mate.

Check out the Smoky Cape Lighthouse and cottage at South West Rocks [NSW],its worth getting divorced and remarried so you can have another honeymoon there. :hump:

I am looking at staying inside and having a relaxing holiday so bush walking and staying in watching movies sounds good... I would rather it be somewhere secluded rather than amongst people/city.

I have tried google but it didn't turn up much.. The Tree Top Houses sounds pretty good.. Might check it out...

The honeymoon i've got planned is fly into LA, pick up a Dodge Viper for rental for a week, drive it to Las Vegas where we spend 5 days and then drive back to LA. From there pick some something more 'economical' like a Mustang Coupe, drive it from LA, to San Diego around through a few states to Denver Colorado, then keep going north to Seattle, then down to San Francisco and fly home via a 5 day stay in Thailand for some serious R&R.

All up about 6 weeks and some $13,000.

I'm not planning on getting married until mid/late 2007 so got some time to save...

Thats ^^ a honeymoon and a half...
But unfortunatley or is that fortunatley i only have two weeks.. Something like the Tree Top Houses sounds excellent...

Anyone know any other places that are like the Tree Top Houses.. That is pretty much secluded from the rest of the world.. Basically so no person can reach me/find me...

Would like to go overseas but flying over water really freaks me out.. I mean really freaks me out...

parawolf 18-08-2005 08:48 PM

Yeah those tree houses sound great...

Velociraptor 18-08-2005 09:01 PM

The Tree Houses are beautiful so is the range.

Found another one called Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat.. Damn there are so many to choose from... What to do.. What to do...

Yeah I love the look of Crystal Creek. How cool to hang in a hammock over the top over a running creek.

"Springers" or 'Lyrebird" up on Springbrook Mountain in G/Coast hinterland.... Seclusion, Rainforest,(endless walks & views) logfires, Spa & sauna in your chalet.... Plus the 29km drive up is an awesome rally drive

To be honest, I can't see the value in going on a honeymoon because most of the time is spent indoors doing 'OTHER" things!!

We did Norfolk Island, The Cook Islands would be another to consider, NZ currency so it's not tooexpensive either.

bunya mountains is mad
sorta around kilcoy
they have little chalets and cottage type things
theres like a honey moon sweet called the west wing the whole house/cottage is surrounded by floor to roof glass windows to see the bush and wallabies jumping around
really nice there..fresh air...all serine and sh!t

big_waity 19-08-2005 02:18 PM

Try Woodgate. I'm not sure where in Qld you are, but Woodgate is probably worth the drive. I have been the many times. Love it. I have heard it described as the Gold Coast 20 years ago. I cannot back that up as I hadn't been to the Gold Coast when I was 3 and wouldn't remember it anyway. The place is about 30 minutes southeast of Bundaberg. Check it out.

bailey04 19-08-2005 02:39 PM

Bunya Mountains does look pretty cool... Godshill West Wing is the honeymoon retreat... Doesn't look to bad.. But its gonna be pretty hard to top Crystral Creek.. Although, it is cheaper.. and most time will be spent inside ;)

Hard decision to make...

gozza 19-08-2005 03:31 PM

yeah man i'm not married but i went to the west wing with my missus for a longweekend...left the place feelin like a million bucks...king or queen bed...log fire...fully contained with utensils and microwave/oven all that...austar...2 person spa...i was stoked cos i got to chop my own firewood haha
and theres also alot of big straihts and dirt roads around

Im planning our honeymoon for next year and the Sebel Reef House and Spa in Palm Cove, (1/2 hr out of Cairns) is where we are most likely to go.What an awesome lookin place!! We are doing on of those package wedding deals. They organise everything and not bad $$$ wise too!!
We found it thru a travel agency brochure for honeymoons.

I can just imagine Charlie reminiscing of the time when his rally skills got gim in the bad books with the wife, only to be rekindled later on in the honeymoon suite.... haha :jester:

Dont plan on getting married but if i ever do it would have to be on the coast somewhere. I dont think anything can beat that. My aunt and uncle sent me pictures of Fraser Island and that looks like such a nice place.
