Re: Ba falcon wont start
Has it been interfered with - any attempted thefts, has the ignition lock fallen apart, are you using a genuine key or a clone?

Re: Ba falcon wont start
Nah hes been so remote no chnace...changes battery thats about it

Re: Ba falcon wont start
Check all the plugs are seated fully - especially those at the bottom of the column and in the kick panels. Lock the car with bonnet up, disconnect the battery and wait a while. Reconnect, unlock the car and try again.

Re: Ba falcon wont start
check ignition switch as mentioned
check interior light fuse check ignition fuse under bonnet fuse box does it have instrument warning lights (reds)-does it crank at all try poring hot water on ecu wriggle connections at ecu does fuel pump prime when key turned on (possible fault with engine relay and or fuel relay) is it in park does it have a fuel cut switch at top edge of left hand kick panel try to supply more detail - is it cranking and not firing -6 or 8- sedan _ did it over heat. etc |
Re: Ba falcon wont start
Thanks guys. I haven’t had BA for years.
It’s. 6 auto. Sweet ride when she goes. He’s on bad internet so sending all feedback. I will be there next week. Hope it’s going by then or long trip home via DARWIN |
Re: Ba falcon wont start
So no crank. Just the odo comes up and yellow hand symbol on dash. No injector noise. Asked him to do some of above. He’s looking for other key. His dad May have it so I need to get that to him

Re: Ba falcon wont start
Check:
a) He hasn't added a magnet or an electronic device to the key ring? b) He not next to something transmitting a radio signal or electrical field or a magnetic field? c) He doesn't have the other vehicle key fob or a fob from another vehicle somewhere close without realising it (you cannot have two active fobs within the Smartshield antenna field at the same time)? I have seen people put on a coat etc they have not worn for a while and found they had an active "lost" key fob in one of its pockets. Does the light ring around the key barrel go on? Is the remote fob battery good (put a new one in anyway)? Has he check all fuses? Especially BEM fuse. In any event, what were the sequence of events leading up to the no start between when the vehicle last ran and he tried to start it again. |

Does the starter relay click?? Does the starter motor solenoid click. |
Re: Ba falcon wont start
Thanks all. Car don’t kick over at all. Told him to give starter motor a hit with hammer.
Car started OkY and he drove it 2km to the pub. Went to get back in and go - dead. He changed the battery recently but that’s it. He only has key. There is no remote fob. And apparently spare key is at my joint somewhere. He has only ‘Coon in town and it’s very much an RF free zone at Larrimah. I’ve asked to listen for fuel pump priming. They left battery off it for 20 mins. He will head back to it first light. Thanks guys - we need to try anything before a $$ tow to Katherine. |
Re: Ba falcon wont start
If it started with started “encoragment” I recon that’s your problem
Tap it and off you go until it’s had it’s last tap |

Re: Ba falcon wont start
I've got a 2006 bf xr6t starts sometimes. When I turn the key over I hear the starter motor. When I turn the key off it has a backfire even with a jump-start. Still finding it hard to start. Sometimes if I hold down. The start for 5 seconds or more it'll start

Re: Ba falcon wont start
If not cranking, it might be worth holding the key in the start position, then moving the T-bar from park all the way to 1st - slowly - to eliminate the neutral safety switch. If still nothing, send him a box of matches...:dhorse
